Ceim Sweater Pattern

Ceim Sweater Pattern

The Fibre Co. team were inspired to create this design to explore the many options for color gradient that are possible when holding two strands of Arranmore Light together. The Ceim Sweater is a gratifyingly quick knit and feature marled stripes on a classic raglan sweater.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light (80% Merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% silk, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in Ailis (A) – 1 [1: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1] hank, Glasney (B) – 1 [2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2] hanks, Evlin (C) – 2 [2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 3: 3: 3] hanks, Sheelin (D) – 2 [2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 3: 3: 3] hanks, and Meara (E) – 1 [1: 1: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2] hanks.

If you prefer to work the sweater using two strands of a single color worked together throughout, you will need 4 [5: 5: 6: 6: 7: 8: 8: 9] hanks of yarn. If you want to work the sweater using two different colors held together but the same colors throughout, then you will need 2 [3: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 4: 5] hanks of each color.

Construction notes:

Ceim is knit seamlessly from the top down, with 2 strands of Arranmore Light held together throughout. The yoke is shaped with raglan increases, until the sleeves are divided from the body. The body is knit from underarm to hem, which is worked with a 2 x 2 rib. The sleeves are then picked up and worked to the cuffs, which are also worked with a 2 x 2 rib. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neck, and a 2 x 2 rib is worked for the neck trim.
